Turkey Breast Dinner

We did get to make the turkey breast. Thank you very much! And I made it in the crock pot!

I put a bunch of baby carrots, celery, and potatoes under the turkey. The turkey I rubbed with a dry packet of Ranch dressing mix. I read a recipe that had the turkey breast in an onion soup mix and I had brought the Ranch packet over with me - so decided to use that. Added a little chicken broth and boy was it good!

With the turkey we had a Pampered Chef Beer bread. I added Parmesan cheese, Italian Seasoning, and garlic. mmmmmm!

Thank you Y for the beer - we continued the tasting with a beer called Shock Top

I'll save you one :)

Sugar's Bow

Your Patio Friend

Mr. Squirrel also visits your house and he was very interested in having his photo captured.

More from the Black Hole

At Target along with flip flops I bought one of those Ice tea pitchers. Its plastic but nice looking.
The colors are bright and springy!

Hopefully the spout doesn't leak like the last one I bought. :)

Happy Easter

Today we had my Dad, Cameron, Jeremy's Mom, and Dad came over for brunch.
We had a delicious breakfast casserole, bacon, turkey bacon, sausage, hash browns, and a tomato/avocado over cottage cheese dish. A lot of meat and carbs but, everything was very very good!

Jeremy found the casserole recipe at allrecipes.com.

The girls enjoyed the company immensely. Thank you for letting us show off your home to our family. My Dad really liked your sun room.

Here is a picture of the tulips Jeremy picked up at Meijer's.

And here are some cookies we made - they look a little lame, but they are tasty enough.

Doggie Facials

No citrus-honey masks here. But I did get out a warm bowl of water and wash cloth and clean their eye goobers. Mindy was very good through the process. Sugar wanted to make sure she was next in line so she jumped onto the chair with us.

I didn't do this the last stay here - I think mostly because I have never cleaned any dog and didn't want to hurt either of them. The warmer water helped loosen the gunk up nicely and pretty soon Mindy looked as good as new.

J took the last 2 of Mindy - they are GREAT!

Our first lunch hour together

Sugar and I had some bonding moments the first Friday I was here. She snuggled on my lap and I took pictures.

What a cutie! and so photogenic.

Macho Mutts they are Not

My relationship with the retail store Target is equivalent to a black hole. I enter the store for a few items and I leave the store with over $100 drained from my checking and way more than a 'few' items. Items that are impulsively chosen in whimtastical moment. That is just what happened on this trip.

We approached the end of the pet isle and all I saw was Dog clothes and a clearance sticker. Not even that much of a discount, mind you. Jeremy swears he told me that the brand was Macho Mutts. Stephanie is his witness in the event. I was mesmerized.

For Mindy, I chose a large. And for Sugar an XX-large. Jeremy tried to get her just a X-L, but I just couldn't see it working. I chose wisely.

After dressing the beauties in their new attire - they really didn't argue. I emerged from the Target Fog. Yikes!! What am I doing to these poor foofoo dogs and their pretty Irish bows? I've adorned them in these awful 'janitor' looking smocks or Macho Mutt Hawaii ware. Ish.

Thankfully I wasn't too full of pride to not take them back to Target for a refund. The kid asked me if there was anything wrong with them. Well not exactly - except that I made a poor choice :)

Sugar sort of looks like she is sprawled out after a lot of booze. I assure you we did not get her intoxicated. :)

Okay Sugar does look a little miserable here.

Fiesta Photo Fun

We really love the lime green color of Fiesta Ware and imagine our delight when we realized how great the Peanut m&ms looked in it. :)

Although they didn't last a long time once we had opened the bag we did enjoy the visual beauty.

Isn't it beautiful?
